About Us
To give you a glimpse into our lives, and why this particular subject interests us, here is a brief biography on each of us:
- I’m Mackenzie, a senior Media Studies major and English minor. I have been involved in the campus radio station as well as a section editor for our campus newspaper, The Tack. I have also completed an editorial internship with Moment Magazine in Washington, DC. I will be covering the art section of our entertainment blog because of my strong interest in the subject area. I love going to art galleries and museums and want to share that interest with you all.
- I’m Justin and I am a senior media studies major and English minor. I have been active on the campus paper The Tack where I write a column entitled Life in Plastic. I have also participated in editorial and fashion internships at Jane and W magazines. Based upon my experiences at these two magazines and countless years of studying Vogue, I will be reporting on style and fashion.
- I’m Katie and I am a senior journalism and media studies major with a minor in English. I have been involved with the school paper, The Tack, as an editor for a couple years and I have worked for The Cabinet Press in Milford, NH. I have always been a big reader; I love being taken to another place and time through the books that I read. During the summer I love to sit on the beach or under a tree and read. I can typically read eight to ten books by doing this. This is why I will be reporting on all that is books for our readers.
- I am Rachel, and I am a junior media studies major and an English minor. I have been the News Editor for my campus newspaper for two years. I have also completed an internship at the Nebraska City News-Press. I chose the category of music because it is something that I have always enjoyed. I find myself listening to a variety of music, and writing about this entertainment topic provides me with the opportunity to learn about musicians from many different music genres.
- I’m Lindsay, a senior media studies major and English minor. I have been involved with the campus newspaper, The Tack for three years, and currently serve as Co-Editor-in-Chief. I am also the Assistant News Editor of the campus radio station, KBVU “The Edge.” I have completed editorial internships at Cityview, Des Moines, Iowa’s alternative weekly, and The Storm Lake Times. When I’m not busy with The Tack and KBVU, you can almost bet I’m watching some sort of television. Catching my regular shows each week is almost as important to me as well, life, which is why I will be your weekly TV correspondent about the happenings on the tube.
